Climate and Clothes to Pack :

Located in the heart of the Philippines, Palmas del Mar Bacolod enjoys balmy tropical weather.
The Philippines has two major seasons, the dry season generally from February to June,
and the wet season from July to January.

Pack light-material clothing, sportswear and swimwear are basic to a vacation in the tropics. Hats,
Sunglasses and sun block are advised to protect you from excessive exposure to sunlight. Special
sports gear such as golf shoes, should be packed if you plan to enjoy your favorite sport during
your stay. Most scuba diving resorts offer rentals for all equipment and gear.

For evenings, smart casual wear is preferred. Formal wear is not required in most restaurants
but many fine dining restaurants and night clubs do not allow slippers and short pants.

ship furniture to your homes anywhere in the world.

Health buffs and sports aficionados will be happy to know that just a few minutes' drive from the
resort are many fitness gyms, golf courses, badminton courts, soccer fields, and a sports
complex used during the 2005 Southeast Asian Games. Further off from Palmas del Mar Bacolod
are off-road biking paths, mountains to trek, caves to explore, and a whole underwater world to
dive and discover.

People and Language :

The residents are known throughout the country for their genuine hospitality and friendly ways,
and for this, Bacolod City is nicknamed "The City of Smiles".

The local language is Hiligaynon, but English is generally spoken by the people. There are
large communities of Chinese and Indian Nationals, there are also groups of local residents
who speak Spanish, French, and German. Bacolod is also home of many European and
English-speaking expatriates who either conduct business in the city or have retired here
with families. There are also many Korean Nationals in town.
